ANAHEIM, Calif. — A police pursuit that began in Corona ended in tragedy on Friday morning when the suspect was killed after a nearly two-hour standoff on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim. The incident occurred on Friday morning, impacting Memorial Day travelers.
Standoff on 91 Freeway
The standoff led to the closure of all lanes on the 91 Freeway from the area where the 91 freeway meets the 55 freeway to the Lakeview Avenue exit on the 91. Caltrans officials said that the closure would remain in place until further notice.
Suspect Killed
The suspect, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unclear how the suspect died, but police say that he may have been killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
