Arsenal v Man Utd: Rice 90+6, Jesus 90+11 snatch late win for Gunners

Statistical breakdown as Arsenal leave it late to beat rivals Man Utd

Bukayo Saka’s late penalty and Gabriel Jesus’ stoppage-time winner snatched Arsenal a dramatic 3-2 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag’s side twice came from behind to level through Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez, but the Gunners showed great character to claim all three points and move five points clear at the top of the table.

The Red Devils dominated the opening stages but it was Arsenal who took the lead in the 17th minute when Eddie Nketiah tapped home from close range after David de Gea had spilled Bukayo Saka’s cross.

United drew level just seven minutes later when Rashford fired home from close range after Christian Eriksen had played him in.

The Gunners regained the lead in the 56th minute when Saka converted a penalty after he was brought down by Diogo Dalot.

But United refused to give up and Martinez headed home from a corner in the 59th minute.

Arsenal pushed for a winner and they finally got it in the 90th minute when Saka was brought down by Tyrell Malacia and referee Anthony Taylor pointed to the spot.

Saka made no mistake from 12 yards and Jesus then sealed the win in the sixth minute of stoppage time with a composed finish after being played in by Thomas Partey.
