England fight back to secure dramatic 3-2 victory over the Netherlands

Lionesses keep UEFA Women's Nations League hopes alive with late Ella Toone winner

England came from behind to beat the Netherlands 3-2 at Wembley, keeping their UEFA Women's Nations League hopes alive.

Ella Toone scored the winning goal in the 90th minute, after Alessia Russo and Rachel Daly had canceled out Vivianne Miedema's opener. Lieke Martens had equalized for the Netherlands in the second half.

The victory means England are now second in Group A, two points behind leaders Belgium. The Lionesses will need to beat Belgium in their final group game on Tuesday to qualify for the Nations League finals.

It was a thrilling match that ebbed and flowed throughout. England started the brighter and took the lead through Russo in the 10th minute. However, the Netherlands equalized just six minutes later through Miedema.

Daly restored England's lead in the 38th minute, but Martens equalized again for the Netherlands in the 52nd minute. Toone had the final say, though, scoring a superb goal in the 90th minute to give England the victory.

The victory was a huge boost for England, who had lost their opening match of the Nations League to Belgium. The Lionesses will now be confident of beating Belgium in their final group game and qualifying for the finals.
