Early Life and Career

Jamal Murray was born on February 23, 1997, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. He began his basketball career at Grand River Collegiate Institute before moving to Orangeville Prep in Caledon, Ontario. In 2016, he committed to play college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats.

College Career

During his lone season at Kentucky, Murray emerged as one of the nation's top young talents. He averaged 20.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, helping the Wildcats reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. Murray was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Year and a consensus All-American.

NBA Career

After one season in college, Murray declared for the 2016 NBA Draft and was selected seventh overall by the Denver Nuggets.
