Jamal Murray Injury

Nuggets Guard Jamal Murray Suffers Season-Ending ACL Tear

Denver Star Out for Season After Non-Contact Injury

Initial Reports and Coach's Statement

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee, the team announced. He suffered the non-contact injury on a fast break during the fourth quarter of the Nuggets' game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night. According to coach Michael Malone, Murray is "devastated" by the news.

The injury occurred with just over three minutes remaining in the game, as Murray attempted to dribble past Lakers forward Anthony Davis. Murray's knee appeared to buckle as he planted his foot, and he immediately collapsed to the ground in pain. He was helped off the court by teammates and was later taken to a local hospital for an MRI, which confirmed the ACL tear.

Malone praised Murray's toughness and determination after the game, saying that he was "gutted" for the young star. Murray, who is entering his seventh season in the NBA, has been a key part of the Nuggets' recent success. He averaged 21.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game last season and was named an All-Star for the first time.

The Nuggets are currently down 3-1 in their first-round playoff series against the Lakers. Murray's injury is a significant blow to their hopes of advancing in the playoffs. Malone said that the team will "determine next steps" regarding Murray's rehabilitation and potential recovery timeline in the coming days.
